General presentation

"Les Vignes de la Passion" the story of a Savoyard terroir, a Roussanne grape variety and a family transmission started in 1940.

Robert Girard-Reydet decided in 1985 to shape the south-facing hillside of the commune of Montmélian to revive the vineyard of his father Marcel.

He quickly noticed the full potential of the Roussanne grape variety, which gives the AOP Chignin Bergeron in Savoie. The vineyard extends to the foot of the Massif des Bauges in Savoie and the La Savoyarde mountain.

It is located in Montmélian, where the daily wind allows natural ventilation of the vines, naturally curbing the appearance of diseases. The marl-limestone soils are very successful with Roussanne, which gives a wine with a strong personality, elegant and fine, remarkable for its power and substance.

All stages of work in the vineyards are carried out manually, with the aim of limiting yields to favor quality.

The harvest is done by hand, with parcel sorting and sorting of the grapes in the cellar. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats for about twenty days, with regular pumping over. The wine then rests for about 8 months in vats, before bottling.

Today, the torch has passed, and the story continues with the help of his sons, Emmanuel and Vincent. Their objective is to produce gourmet wines, suitable for aging, expressing themselves with finesse and complexity.

This wine is round, generous, slightly spicy, with a bouquet of candied orange aromas, apricot kernels, with mineral notes.
