Loire Valley Wines

Loire was erstwhile called the garden of France. It is a region of castles, orchards, gardening and grazing herds. Alongside the river, a temperate climate soften the weather to create a specific terroir : enough sun, not too much rain. Sauvignon Blanc is the king of Loire, including Sancerre whose reputation is deserved. Cabernet Franc finds here a cooler climate than Bordeaux, and develops spices aromas carried by a good freshness. Pinot Noir is also present, and gives lookalike Burgundy red wines.
