Loire Valley Wines

Loire was formerly called the garden of France. It is a region of castles, orchards, gardening, and grazing herds. Alongside the river, a temperate climate softens the weather to create a specific terroir: enough sun, not too much rain. Sauvignon Blanc is the king of Loire, including Sancerre, whose reputation is deserved. Cabernet Franc finds here a cooler climate than Bordeaux and develops spicy aromas carried by a good freshness. Pinot Noir is also present and produces similar Burgundy red wines.
