St. Teodoric Chapel
St. Theodoric's Chapel is not an estate in the usual sense of the term.
The grapes for the wine come from 3 ha of AOP Chateauneuf du Pape since 2009 belonging to the American wine importer Peter Weygandt.
The cultivation of the vines and the winemaking are carried out by the Domaine de Christia team.
The 3 ha are located in two places called Guigasse and Pignan, two areas where the soil is sandy and almost free of stones. All plots contain only Grenache Noir with an average age of 50 years - some vines are even a hundred years old.
The first vintage was harvested in 2009.
The vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics.
In the first vintages since 2009, the yield has only been around 14 hl/ha.
The know-how
Today, 3 generations of winegrowers share their passion and their know-how on the 42 hectares of Domaine de Cristia, spread across the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations (18 hectares of red and 1 hectare of white), Côtes-du-Rhône Villages (9 hectares), Côtes-du-Rhône (5 hectares) and Vin de Pays (9 hectares).
Many projects are being added and are making the Domaine de Cristia growing, being built and is anchoring itself more and more within the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
